    Gaming Industry’s Sustainability Focus: How It’s Changed Down the Years

    In the gaming industry, sustainability is generally comprehended as greenwashing, and therefore, if a company seeks to improve their reputation by marketing environmental awareness, it is sure to affect their success in the near or later future.

    In a place like Las Vegas where people go for gambling and entertainment are at its peak, Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR isn’t something you would normally discuss. However, if you are into online betting sites like https://th.betway88.com/, you would know that the company focuses on ensuring that they do their part when it comes to sustainability.

    The Move Towards Sustainability

    With changing times, and with the urge to challenge their existing reputation, Vegas’ biggest industries are now tilting their focus towards sustainability by fostering greener initiatives. Known for the neon lights set up on the infamous local strip, and often called the ‘brightest spot on earth’ by astronauts, it might sound ludicrous on the part of the entrepreneurs as huge amounts of electricity is used up with innumerable tourists visiting the every advancing year.

    Caesars Entertainment Corporation and MGM International Resorts have begun tidying up their acts to be set as a fine CSR example and to also prove that gaming industries can focus on sustainability.

    How do they do it?

    Cleaning rags are recycled from pillows and old towels. From cards, soap, curtains and dice, there is nothing in Caesars that is not recycled. Very interestingly, the rooms that remain unused have lights and ACs switched off including the vending machine that is only in use when necessary. Very interestingly, the wine served there arrives from kegs instead of bottles.

    But people just go to gamble there! Yes they do, despite that they continue to summon a team from Renu Oil to ensure waste management.

    Yet, sustainability still remains a question.

    The critics of the anti ? gaming agenda persist with questions on the companies being truly sustainable and social. The national director of Stop Predatory Gamble, Les Bernal is of the opinion that the gambling business aims at making people irresponsible and since most casinos are merely promoting inequality it implies no lookout on the social responsibility.

    By taking up the responsibility to raise awareness against the dangers of gambling for their customers, both land ? based and online operators are encouraging responsible gaming to avoid underage gaming and to prevent damage that is cause by their business to communities. Financiers too are reassured to avoid gambling under the influence of substance and alcohol and those gambling huge amounts of money will be looked into.

    The Accusations Continue

    The gaming industry is accused of having 95% of problem gamblers who do no seek help and that responsible gaming is nothing more than a public relations message.

    It is believed that by the next decade, there will be tremendous pacing down in the profit of this business.

    The government initiated policy of self ? exclusion is an effective way to obstruct problem gambling. With it, gamers can remove themselves from online gaming platforms, casinos and other gaming establishments.

    The greener initiatives for sustainability by the gaming operators are certainly leading into an enormous transformation.
