The post of the Chair of the Committee for Socio-economic Analysis is located in the Committees Unit.  The  mission  of  the  Unit  is  to  ensure  that  the  Agency’s  three  technical  and  scientific Committees  Committee  for  Risk  Assessment  (RAC),  Committee  for  Socio-economic  Analysis (SEAC)  and  the  Member  State  Committee,  and  the  Forum  for  Exchange  of  Information  on Enforcement (Forum) will operate  in an efficient, consistent and  independent manner, aiming  to deliver  quality  scientific  and  technical  advice  and  to  provide  a  platform  for  the  coordination  of Member States’ enforcement activities.

The Committee  for Socio-economic Analysis plays a vital role in formulating the opinion of the Agency with regard to the socio-economic  impact of restrictions or of authorisation applications.

The latter includes an assessment of  the  socio-economic  factors and  the availability, suitability and  technical  feasibility of alternatives associated with  the use(s) of  the substance as described in an authorisation application.

The Chair of SEAC will be responsible for organising the work of the Committee and its Working Groups.  She/he will also act as a  Team Leader for the SEAC Secretariat situated in the Committees Unit. In that function she/he will be responsible for coordinating the human, financial and  technical resources relating to SEAC within the framework of the overall planning of the Agency.
