    Monday 13 April

    1:15 pm ECB’s De Guindos speech

    European Central Bank Vice President Luis de Guindos gives remarks at the 4th “Wake up, Spain” symposium organised by El Español, Invertia and D+I (Disruptores e Innovadores) in Madrid, Spain.

    Tuesday 14 April

    3:00 pm ECB’s Lane speech

    Philip Richard Lane has been an Executive Board member of the European Central Bank since June 2019 and its Chief Economist. Before being appointed as an ECB member, he was the Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland.

    4:00 pm ECB’s Cipollone speech

    Piero Cipollone was appointed a member of the European Central Bank’s executive board in November 2023. The ECB executive board is responsible for the implementation of euro area monetary policy, as laid down by the ECB governing council.

    4:30 pm ECB’s Lane speech

    10:00 pm ECB’s President Lagarde speech

    The European Central Bank’s President Christine Lagarde, formerly Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund and minister of finance in France, began her eight-year term at the helm of the ECB in November 2019. As part of her job in the Governing Council, Lagarde holds press conferences in detailing how the ECB observes the current and future state of the European economy.

    10:00 am Industrial Production s.a. (MoM) (Feb)

    The Industrial Production index, released by Eurostat on a monthly basis, measures changes in the price-adjusted output of industry. It is a widely-followed indicator to gauge the strength in the Eurozone’s manufacturing sector.

    The Industrial Production, released by Eurostat, shows the volume of production of Industries such as factories and manufacturing.

    4:20 pm ECB’s Cipollone speech

    Piero Cipollone was appointed member of the European Central Bank’s executive board in November 2023. The ECB executive board is responsible for the implementation of euro area monetary policy, as laid down by the ECB governing council.

    Isabel Schnabel has been a member of the ECB’s executive board since January 2020. She was a professor of Financial Economics at the University of Bonn before getting appointed to her current ECB position.

    The Core Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) measures changes in the prices of a representative basket of goods and services in the European Monetary Union. The HICP, released by Eurostat on a monthly basis, is harmonised because the same methodology is used across all member states and their contribution is weighted.
