Tender: the role of e-infrastructures in virtual research communities
The European Commission's Directorate General for
Information Society and Media has issued a call for tenders for a study
on the role of e-infrastructures in the creation of global virtual
research communities.
The aim of this study is to measure the contribution of
e-infrastructures to the creation of global virtual research
communities and to define the ways of sustaining it in the future, in
particular:
- to identify the changes in the scientific process brought by e-infrastructures;
- to measure the impact of e-infrastructures in socio-economic terms, taking into account this changing paradigm of science;
- to identify the policy changes required to fully exploit the
e-infrastructures (organisation; funding, etc.) and to ensure their
