    External Relations DG RELEX

    The External Relations DG RELEX contributes to an effective and coherent external policy of the EU and enables the union to assert its identity on the international scene. The DG is responsible for the Commission’s relations with international organisations, such as the United Nations and the Council of Europe, as well as the Commission’s participation in the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP). It also administers the more than 120 Commission delegations in third countries.

    Benita Ferrero-Waldner is Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy.
