5 Interior Trends Forecast To Turnover More Than €1,000,000 This Quarter

This fall is filled with high ticket interior design trends which are estimated to make the biggest profit in interior design this year. According to Insider, the following five fashions are expected to empty many wallets.

    1. Most sales: jewel tones

As appropriate for the fall season, jewel tones combined with natural wood are still in fashion this year. They create the pleasant and warm environment that people crave in autumn.

According to many interior experts, a few favourites have been spotted this season. The shades which are setting this season’s tones are jewel and green.

Interior enthusiasts enjoy purchasing new cans of paint to redecorate walls, floors or furniture. And as changing and adding colours to existing spaces are relatively inexpensive, this trend is expected to generate the most sales.

    2. Highest investment: organic materials

Sustainability is a trend which is becoming increasingly visible in more markets. Investing in green interior pieces and decorations is better for the environment and its users. Sustainable items are more oftenly longer lasting than plastic alternatives and come with a premium finish.

Nowadays, there are many options of finishes to choose from. This makes investing in organic materials more attractive than a few seasons ago. Their natural tones and finishes also make it easy to combine with trends from other seasons. A rocking chair made of 100% rattan is easier to combine with eastern decorations than a knitted stool.

However, this trend is still not for all. As naturally sourced items still have a higher price ticket than plastic items, they are still expected to turnover less than non-organic furniture.

    3. Growing niche: neutral living spaces with texture

For the past years, minimalism and clean lines were in fashion. The less textures and patterns; the better. However from fall 2022 onwards, textures and patterns are making a comeback. Among this year’s fall/winter trend are neutral items with extraordinary finishes. The key in design to make pieces with extravagant patterns stand out are basic warm and cool tones.

This trend is expected to make a profitable turnover in its first year of launching. Neutral interior pieces were previously considered to be plain. This caused most consumers to look away from spending big bucks on neutral pieces. This trend makes it more attractive for consumers to spend more on neutral items as patterns increase the perceived value of furniture pieces. This increase is forecasted to be so large, that it will evolve in a new niche.

    4. Market shift: curved shapes

Curves are also making their way back into homes again. Curves are perceived to add dimension and soften a space. Curves are now seen as modern and contemporary. And, can be incorporated in many forms. A frequently seen furniture piece this fall is the round chaise longue. Even though this trend mainly revolves around higher ticket items, such as chairs, tables and wall decorations, many interior enthusiasts are willing to invest in curved-shaped interior items.

    5. Recycling: vintage furniture

As per usual, consumers enjoy recycling ‘old trends’. Older pieces showcase a sense of authenticity that new, big-box pieces don’t. Nowadays, it is even possible to buy vintage furniture online. Making thrift shopping an invaluable (and inexpensive) trend. Moreover: vintage furniture is copycat proof. As vintage shopping has been popular for some time, it is not evident how much this market is expected to grow this season.
