    3:00 pm Consumer Confidence (Mar) (Preliminary release)

    The Consumer Confidence released by the European Commission is a leading index that measures the level of consumer confidence in economic activity.

    3:00 pm ECB’s Cipollone speech

    European Central Bank Executive Board member Piero Cipollone gives a speech at House of the Euro event on APPIA Roadmap in Brussels.

    4:00 pm ECB’s Lane speech

    European Central Bank Chief Economist Philip Lane gives a keynote speech at ECB-SAFE-RCEA International Conference on the Climate-Macro-Finance Interface (3CMFI) in Frankfurt, Germany.

    Tuesday 24 March

    9:00 am HCOB Composite PMI (Mar) (Preliminary release)

    The Composite Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), released on a monthly basis by S&P Global and Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB), is a leading indicator gauging private-business activity in the Eurozone for both the manufacturing and services sectors. The data is derived from surveys to senior executives.

    9:00 am HCOB Manufacturing PMI (Mar) (Preliminary release)

    The Manufacturing PMI, released on a monthly basis by S&P Global and Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB), is a leading indicator gauging business activity in the Eurozone manufacturing sector.

    9:00 am HCOB Services PMI (Mar) (Preliminary release)

    The Services Purchasing Managers Index (PMI), released on a monthly basis by S&P Global and Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB), is a leading indicator gauging business activity in the Eurozone services sector.

    10:00 am ECB’s Kocher speech

    Austrian central bank Governor Martin Kocher takes part in a press conference about the Annual Report 2025 and interim forecast for 2026.

    12:00 pm ECB’s Sleijpen speech

    Dutch Central bank Governor Olaf Sleijpen participates in a press conference about the DNB Annual Report 2025.

    1:30 pm ECB’s Cipollone speech

    Piero Cipollone was appointed as a member of the ECB’s executive board in November 2023. The ECB executive board is responsible for the implementation of euro area monetary policy, as laid down by the ECB governing council.

    3:00 pm ECB’s Nagel speech

    German Bundersbank President Joachim Nagel speaks on “Central Bank digital currencies-opportunities and implementation considerations”.

    3:45 pm ECB’s Lane speech

    Philip Richard Lane has been an Executive Board member of the ECB since June 2019 and its Chief Economist. Before being appointed as an ECB member, he was the Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland.

    8:45 am ECB’s President Lagarde speech

    The ECB’s President Christine Lagarde began her eight-year term at the helm of the ECB in November 2019. As part of her job in the Governing Council, Lagarde holds press conferences in detailing how the ECB observes the current and future state of the European economy.

    9:15 am ECB’s Lane speech

    Philip Richard Lane has been an Executive Board member of the ECB since June 2019 and its Chief Economist.

    9:00 am ECB’s De Guindos speech

    Luis De Guindos has been the Vice-president of the European Central Bank since June 2018.

    9:00 am M3 Money Supply (3m) (Feb)

    M3 is a measure of money supply that is released by the ECB. It calculates all currency in circulation, bank deposits, repurchase agreements, debt securities up to 2 years and the value of money market shares.

    Friday 27 March

    4:00 pm ECB’s Schnabel speech

    Isabel Schnabel has been a member of the ECB’s executive board since January 2020. She was a professor of Financial Economics at the University of Bonn before getting appointed to her current ECB position.

    7:30 pm CFTC EUR NC Net Positions

    The weekly Commitments of Traders (COT) report provides information on the size and the direction of the positions taken, across all maturities, participants primarily based in Chicago and New York futures markets.
