The program officers are broadly responsible for obtaining research funds and supporting projects during the implementation phase. There is big component of administrative work in this position. However, it is a starting position at CASE, and we offer perspectives for developing professional career in research. In particular, we would like program officers to move into independent research positions in the future.

We seek candidates with a background in economics and a strong interest in working in a professional research and analysis environment. In addition to an economics background, the ideal candidate will also have a strong familiarity with current European and global economic, political and public policy issues. Ideal candidates will have the initiative and commitment to push forward the CASE research program by cultivating and developing new sources of funding and maintaining close contact with current funders, the inter-personal skills to develop strong working relationships with researchers and key external figures and the administrative and organizational ability to manage projects through the application, realization, dissemination and wrap-up stages.
