Looking for a Serviced Office? Here’s How Best to Choose

Whenever anyone sets up a business, one of the first things they do is figure out where they can operate. It’s the ‘first order of business,’ so to speak.

But today’s business owners and entrepreneurs are much savvier and smarter because instead of allocating their precious business funds and resources for renting an office (and the corresponding furniture and equipment to go along with it), they are choosing to save what money they have and are instead opting for a serviced office. So if you’re thinking along the same lines and would like to make sure of your choice, here’s what you should look for ? and how best to choose.

    1. The cost of setting up ? and the utilities

First of all, you need to determine that the cost of setting up your workplace is worth it. Would you be able to save money by having everything set up for you, or are you better off setting it all up yourself? Keep in mind that you have to think about the utilities from the broadband connection to the telephone lines. As you know, with a serviced office, almost everything is provided, so you have to weigh the cost of doing it yourself versus having someone set it up for you. Also, consider the time you have to spend doing all these things that takes time away from your actual business.

    2. The location

Another general rule to follow ? and look at ? is the location. Although there is no specific spot or locale that is the ‘best,’ it can be argued that as long as it is easily accessible, it should work quite well. And if it is in the heart of a big city, that works wonders. This is because it’s easier to get the talent you need, for one, and it makes you more accessible to vendors and suppliers for another. Also, if you are centrally located, it is easy to get in the centre of the action ? and it gives you the chance to hobnob with other like-minded individuals. Who knows, you may meet someone and come up with an excellent idea for a collaborative project!

    3. Flexibilit

A serviced office provider will present you with a range of solutions ? from business and administrative support to reception services, lines of communication (from the Internet to telephone lines, among others), and maintenance and security. But you should get a provider who can offer flexibility in terms of the monthly rental. And if you ever need to move out or find a bigger location on the spur of the moment, this flexibility works best. So, for instance, you can pay for units to rent at Cariocca Business Park, Manchester, every month, along with the opportunity to work out a month’s notice if ever you have to move out. This way, you can remain flexible and will not be burdened with a long-term lease and deposit.

    4. Control

At the end of the day, you want a serviced office provider who allows you to remain in control ? whether through your lease, the size of your space, the value-added services you want, and more. Of course, when you are just starting, everything seems so volatile, which is expected in its way. But if you can get an arrangement where you control your office space, that’s one less thing to worry about.
