Entain is one of the leading sports betting entertainment groups in the world. For years, it has been operational in a number of different countries around the globe. However, it recently continued its expansion even more in Europe, as well as breaking into Latin America. In fact, this last year has been an exceptional one for this company.

    Entain grows bigger

The company has recently expanded by almost a third, moving into even more globally regulated gaming markets. This comes right on the heels of the company actually securing two of Europe’s biggest operators, the Portuguese Bet.pt and Enlabs AB from the Baltics.

With those latest purchases, the company is now able to operate in four more European markets. This is set to help Entain springboard forward and take over even more markets throughout that continent.

To put this in perspective, this time last year, the company was operating within 21 regulated markets. Now though, the company is active in 27. Germany and Colombia being two of the latest to come under their operation.

    Latest expansions

The recent acquisitions of both Bet.pt and Enlabs are huge in terms of the growth potential of Entain. Bet.pt, for instance, is likely to grow in its own right. This acquisition has seriously helped Entain keep a strong footing in that part of the world. It shouldn’t be ignored that Entain also operates in Spain via bwin, so this is just an extra.

Enlabs AB, was already the leading operator in the Baltic area covering Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. By purchasing this company, Entain has simply enabled itself to keep growing in all the newest up and coming gaming markets. In fact, both of these areas are some of the fastest-growing markets at the moment.

With such successes already under its belt, there’s no surprise here to see that they are looking for other areas to move into as well.

Some of these areas include looking for licensing in Canada’s Ontario province, as well as securing a joint venture with MGM resorts to move into the Tennessee market. The company’s aspirations also include the addition of 12 states down the line, with the target of reaching a whopping 20 states by the end of the year.

    Taking on Latin America

Latin America is a little harder to penetrate, though the company is clearly well represented among casinos available in Mexico through internetcasinos.mx. Entain have also obtained an online gaming license from Coljuegos, the regulatory body in Colombia. With the site just launched, this marks a major turning point for the company.

That’s because, at this point, they are in fact the first global sports betting site to get a license in Latin America. With this achievement, the company looks set to move forward swiftly, if and when other Latin American countries start the process to fully legalize online gaming.

    What’s next for Entain

As one might imagine, it is unlikely the company will stop here. As we look ahead, it is clear that this company is going to add more markets to those it already operates in. This will be made possible through a number of changes that are currently underway in various countries and regions. This includes Canada, Eastern and Central Europe, as well as an increased presence in Latin America.

With these additional areas under its belt, Entain is likely to be increasing the size of its operations. Possibly as soon as the year’s end. As the CFO of Entain has already stated, the acquisitions that are being made are simply following the outline and goals of the company. That being said, Entain will only move into countries that have full regulation in place or are in the process of setting it up. In this way, they can ensure that they only provide secure gaming opportunities.

    Conclusion

Entain is growing in leaps and bounds. With this constant rate of expansion, it won’t be long before the company will be able to operate in all corners of the earth. However, they are making sure that they temper this with a range of social responsibility measures. These include partnerships with charitable groups both in the US, Australia, and the UK, ensuring gamblers know how to play safely no matter where in the world they are.
