As anyone with an internet connection will know, Google won the battle of the search engines some time ago, with the vast majority of internet traffic now running through its search platform.

As such, if you or I want to look for a brand, a product, or a service, we’ll use Google to help us find those things. For businesses, therefore, finishing in the top of Google’s results can be the difference between existence and non-existence ? after all, who opens page 2 of the results? In this guide, then, you’ll learn how to boost your search engine performance to the very top of Google’s results.

    Know the Rules

There are rules of the game when it comes to boosting your search engine performance. And if you follow these rules wisely, and invest in some smart Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies, you’ll be sure to build up a set of tactics that help you approach your search engine boosting with the right knowledge.

You can do this by researching what it is that Google uses to promote certain links above others ? and make your business fit in with these algorithms and their detection of elements on your website. Some of these elements include:

    • The number of pages on your website
    • The traffic that you currently enjoy
    • The time people tend to spend on your website, and their engagement on it
    • The keywords that you use in your headings and your copy text
    • The multimedia elements to your website
    • How quickly pages load on your website

All of these elements are important for you to consider if you’re to really effectively boost your website to top visibility in Google’s results.

    SEO Marketing

So, now you have an idea of how you can boost your website in Google’s search results, it’s time for you to consider what you’ll need to change about your marketing strategy in order to make the most of this newfound knowledge. It’s highly recommended that at this stage, you engage with a company that can help you build out your strategy, at least in the first few weeks and months of your evolution.

You can find services and expertise at Chicago SEO, where you’ll get the help and applies knowledge you need in order to reshape your marketing budget to fit with your new aim ? to get to the top of Google’s results. One of the things that a marketing agency that focuses on SEO will provide is a set of keywords that will attract custom to your website. They’re one of the biggest elements of any SEO strategy.

    Selecting Keywords

It’s difficult to come up with a full set of keywords to use in your marketing materials that’ll guide shoppers and consumers to your website. Of course, there’s your brand name ? and that will usually be one of the top results on Google when searched directly. But there are other keywords that you want people to search that’ll guide them to your products or services, and these take a little more imagination to decide upon.

For instance, if you’re a company that specializes in selling potted plants, you should consider a range of keywords that you imagine consumers will use to identify your products in the swatches of online options available. You can also test these assumptions by using free software, available online, that tells you the frequency of different keyword searches ? and how difficult it might be for you to compete to get to the top of Google’s results when they’re searched.

    Affiliate Marketing

Another technique to help you get to the top of Google’s search results is to market through the websites and blogs of others. By having your own website linked to those of others across the internet, you’ll be providing Google’s algorithms with an idea of your trustworthiness as a site. Put simply, Google believes that if other people are willing to hyperlink to your website, you’re probably reputable and trustworthy ? and so your site will be promoted above others.

So, you’re going to need to look into how you can get your website ‘backlinked’ by other websites. An SEO company can help give you access to these other websites – with whom they already have relationships. But if you’re going it alone, you may find that the most effective strategy for you is to contact websites independently and to ask them if you can link to their site in an exchange that sees them link to yours. Affiliate marketing will boost your SEO performance quickly and over time.

These tips are crucial in helping boost your search engine results performance, helping web users find your company above your competitors.
