ESA-JRC International Summer School on GNSS 2024

Slovenia

The 14th edition of the ESA/JRC International Summerschool on GNSS will be held in Novo Mesto, in Slovenia. This Summerschool aims at training future generations of scientists and engineers, to support the space programme and foster innovation in the domain of space related applications.

The July Foreign Affairs Council will discuss the Russian aggression against Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East. Under current affairs, Ministers will touch on digital diplomacy.

Over lunch, EU Foreign Affairs Ministers will have an informal exchange of views with the President of the European Investment Bank, Nadia Calviño.

Informal meeting of justice and home affairs ministers

Budapest, Hungary

On the Home Affairs day, Member States' representatives will discuss the future of cooperation in the field of home affairs, the achievement of interoperability, the actions on the external dimension of migration and the fight against organised crime.

The priorities of the Presidency for the current six-month period have been set by Hungary. The priorities include the promotion of legal competitiveness and digitalisation in the field of justice, as well as the regulation and use of AI. During the informal meeting, ministers will hold a first exchange of views on the future priorities of security and judicial cooperation in the next five-year term and on political guidance for the new Commission.

EP committees' constitutive meeting: Parliament's standing committees will hold their constitutive meetings to elect a chair and up to four vice-chairs for a two-and-a-half-year mandate. Committees deal with legislative proposals, appoint negotiating teams to conduct talks with EU ministers, adopt reports, organise hearings and scrutinise other EU bodies and institutions
