The New Jersey legal gambling market is growing, and more and more European casino operators are looking to score licenses in this very exclusive state.

    EU casinos in USA

Why exclusive? To operate an online casino, betting or poker site in the Garden State, you must operate under an Atlantic City license (which only are awarded to land based brick-and-mortar casinos in the AC area).

However, each Atlantic City gaming licensee, can host up to 6 sites on their license. This has led to multiple European gambling sites starting partnerships with the New Jersey license holders, making it possible for them to promote their products legally in NJ.

In this article, we will show what European gambling websites are operating in New Jersey today, and under what license they do so.

    BORGATA HOTEL CASINO & SPA

The Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa host 5 gambling sites on their license today. Out of those 5, there are one European site currently operating in NJ, but with 2 products and 2 URL’s listed.

    1. PartyPoker – www.nj.partypoker.com
    2. PartyCasino – www.nj.partycasino.com

The PartyPoker and PartyCasino brand is one of the oldest in the industry, and was a huge player back in the day before the black friday of poker, referring to the day when FBI and the DOJ struck down on illegal poker sites operating in the US.

Borgata also have the following US brands live in NJ:

    1. BorgataCasino
    2. Borgata Poker
    3. Pala Bingo
    4. PalaCasino
    5. Pala Poker
    6. BetMGM
    7. ScoresCasino

    CAESARS INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT

    NEW JERSEY

The Ceasars Casinos complex is massive, with land based casinos and gaming rooms in multiple locations in the world. They own and operate the international brands Caesars, Bally’s, Harrah’s and Horseshoe as well as a few other casinos in various parts of the US.

In New Jersey, they also host 1 European gambling company, 888.

The 888 Group have the following EU based products and URL’s listed under the Caesars license:

    1. 888 – us.888.com
    2. 888poker – us.888poker.com

Caesars also have the following brands with US origins live in NJ:

    2. Harrah’s Casino
    3. WSOP

GOLDEN NUGGET HOTEL CASINO & MARINA

The Golden Nugget Hotel, Casino and Marina host 4 casino sites on their license, with one European giant among them: Betfair.

Betfair, the large betting exchange have been operating in Europe and other parts of the world since the year of 2000.

On the Golden Nugget Atlantic City license they have the following EU based product and URL listed:

    1. Betfair – www.betfaircasino.com

Other US brands live on the Golden Nugget NJ license:

    1. Golden Nugget Casino
    2. Sugar House
    3. Bet America

    HARD ROCK HOTEL AND CASINO

The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is a well known brand pretty much everywhere, and with the legalization of gambling in the Garden State their Atlantic City premises have gone into partnerships with the following brands: Bet365 and Unibet.

Both Bet365 and Unibet are among the largest betting sites in the world, which must mean a great deal of revenue for the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino group.

The following products and URL’s are listed on the Hard Rock AC license:

    1. Bet365 – www.nj.bet365.com
    2. Unibet – nj.unibet.com

Plus their own Hard Rock brand.

    RESORTS CASINO HOTEL ATLANTIC CITY

The Resorts Casino & Hotel Atlantic City are in partnership with the bigger poker site in the world: Pokerstars.

Unlucky for them, poker is declining in NJ while sports betting and casino revenues are on the rise.

This is the European product and URL listed under the Resorts AC license:

    1. Pokerstars – www.pokerstarsnj.com

    And their US products are:

    1. ResortsCasino
    2. DraftKings
    3. Mohegan Sun

TROPICANA CASINO & RESORT ATLANTIC CITY

Tropicana is also a classic gambling operator with many casinos under their belt. Today, they are in partnership with one EU based operator, listed below with URL.

    1. VirginCasino – www.virgincasino.com

Tropicana also host their own www.tropicanacasino.com on their license in NJ.

What the future holds for EU gambling operators in the United States of America

Already we see EU betting and casino websites in partnerships with US brick-and-mortar casinos, making it possible to operate in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, with many more states on the horizon as the wave of legislation strikes over the nation.

Our best bet for the future is that more operators seek co-operations to expand west. However, it does take an organization of a certain size to pull it off.

Three operators we think will launch US products in the coming years include:

    1. Betsson Group
    2. William Hill PLC
    3. Ladbrokes Coral Group

If all, or any of them will actually start moving towards a US launch only time can tell, but with over $431 million in revenues in NJ only during 2019 there are literally millions of reasons to do so.
