Publisher's Note
================
The Euro-elections were underway Thursday with EU leaders
fearing a boost for extremist parties - as Europe's voters
protest against the economic crisis and high unemployment -
and a record low turnout, despite the growing role which
Euro-MPs play in adopting, amending or rejecting EU laws.

Who to vote for? The Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Union
says the European Peoples Party will help create the best
environment for entrepreneurs and small businesses. Former
director of Greenpeace UK Stephen Tindale, writing for
EUbusiness, says "people should vote for the party that
they think will do most to reduce greenhouse gas
emissions". One thing is certain: a Parliament of
extremists and eurosceptics will do nothing to address
the problems facing Europe today.

Comment of the Week
-------------------
Commenting on our piece "Russian gas pipeline to be built
before EU rival", Stoyan Antonov writes:

"...the strategy of Gazprom and some of its EU partners is
to avoid critical states like Ukraine and Turkey which also
showed willingness to exchange Nabucco for membership to EU
negotiations. Turks were politely advised not to try that.
Germany does not support Nabucco. Germany will soon receive
Russian gas directly through North Stream avoiding Baltic
states and Poland. Good for Germany, good for Russia.."
