Publisher's Note
================
As recession begins to bite in Europe, the idea of a
timeshare holiday holds some appeal. Holidaymakers who can
afford it will benefit from the European Parliament's vote
this Wednesday to revise the Timeshare Directive.

The timeshare industry is worth over EUR 10.5 billion and is
responsible for more than 40,000 jobs across the EU. The
Directive tackles loopholes in current rules and in
particular aims to eliminate the rogue traders who give
legitimate operators a bad name. Hopefully the rules will
succeed in their aim to boost the confidence of consumers,
and give them real peace of mind when they sign up for
their dream holiday deal.

Comment of the Week
-------------------
Commenting on our piece "Klaus says will not fly EU flag
during Czech presidency", Anne Palmer writes:

"He is perfectly correct not to hoist the EU Emblem, for in
spite of the EU Parliament having a 'say', it was removed
from the EU constitutional Treaty of Lisbon and unless it is
put through a Treaty, it will always remain exactly what it
was before Lisbon and the rejected EU Constitution."
