Publisher's Note
================
"I don't think the events we are witnessing are helpful for
the general growth situation", says eurogroup chairman Jean-
Claude Juncker. With Europe's economy already struggling
with high oil prices and a strong euro, the risk of a
genuine recession has risen with the latest banking crisis.
Nevertheless, the Federation of European Employers says
major European companies outside the financial sector
have anticipated the economic downturn in recent years,
substantially increasing profit margins. For this reason,
it says recovery could be "far quicker than in past economic
cycles when the upturn finally comes". We live in hope.
