This week in Brussels, the inaugural meetings of the
Parliamentary committees were completed with elections of
chairs and vice-chairs. Commissioner Barrot told the Civil
Liberties Committee that a new deal being negotiated by the
EU and US on sharing bank data via the SWIFT financial
network will be an "interim" one; and Agriculture Committee
MEPs said measures taken or envisaged by the Commission to
resolve the current milk price crisis are inadequate.
