    Staying Healthy While Travelling For Business

    For business purposes or not, travelling abroad is always exciting, especially when you?re travelling to places that you’ve never been to before. However, work is stressful, and if you?re away on business for a long time, it can be easy to slip into an unhealthy routine.

    So, before you leave, prepare in advance, grab an EHIC Application Form for peace of mind, and you should be set for your travels.

    Stay Hydrated

    You’d be surprised at how many people struggle to drink the 2 litres a day that you’re supposed to, so when you’re busy and away for business, it can be easy to forget. Aim to have a water bottle on you at all times, and if you’re offered a glass of water at a conference or business meeting, always say yes! You never know when you might get another chance to hydrate, so take advantage of these opportunities.

    Getting Accommodation with a Gym

    Working out can be a chore, but when travelling for business, eating habits can get a little crazy. You might find yourself snacking in between meetings, or over-indulging at the conference buffet. Therefore, by staying in a hotel that has gym facilities, access to some exercise is much easier. Even if you’re only working out for 20 minutes, you’re still cutting out those all-important calories.

    Bike to Events

    Unless you are able to transport your car over to the country you’re visiting, you’re going to have to arrange some transport. The easiest solution would be to get a taxi or another mode of public transport to get you around. However, not only does this limit your physical activity, but it can also cost you a lot of money if the expenses aren’t paid by your organisation. If this is the case, why not rent out a bike for your trip? The majority of big cities offer bike rental to get you from A to B. You’ll be saving money, as well as getting those leg muscles working and getting your heart pumping.

    Book a Spa Trip

    Being healthy isn’t always about your physical self ? it’s about your mental self as well. If you’re lucky, you might have a gap in your agenda where you can do whatever you like with your time. As business trips can sometimes be stressful and full-on, we would recommend that you book a spa appointment. After rushing from meeting to meeting, your mind could use a good rest, and, if following the above tips as well, your muscles probably could, too. Therefore, it makes complete sense to take some time out in a spa and relax in a steamy sauna, or if you’d like to go all out, why not arrange a full body or a facial massage? You will leave feeling rejuvenated and motivated for the rest of your trip.

    Research nearby Restaurants in Advance

    When in a foreign city in the first time, it can be difficult to navigate yourself and find somewhere to eat. In these cases, the majority of people will accept the first affordable restaurant they come across, which will usually be a fast-food place serving high calorie food. To prevent this from happening, do some research before you depart to find some good value restaurants that have healthy, nutritious food on the menu.
