European Commission: Agriculture and Rural Development DG
The Agriculture and Rural Development DG is responsible for the implementation of agriculture and rural development policy, the latter in conjunction with other DGs dealing with structural policy. Its staff of 1000 takes care of all aspects of the CAP, including market measures, rural development issues and international relations relating to agriculture.
Dacian Ciolos is the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development. He is responsible for all issues relating to the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy and its further development.
