1. EU agrees outline deal to curb flow in conflict minerals
The EU agreed Thursday a framework to stop the financing of armed groups
through trade in conflict minerals, following negotiations between EU
Council, Commission and Parliament.

Brussels has finally published the scientific criteria needed to
identify and reduce exposure to hormone-disrupting chemicals, seen by
the WHO as a global threat to public health - two years late.

New guidelines for air passengers flying in the EU bring clarity to
existing rules and facilitate their enforcement ahead of the summer
holidays, says the Commission.
6. Environment agency calls for noise protection
Protecting areas not affected by noise can bring significant
environmental and health benefits, according to a report published
Thursday by the EU environment agency.
