EU plan spurs investment - EUbusiness Week newsletter 747
EUbusiness Week 747 top stories: EU warns Poland on rule of law; EU, US sign shared law enforcement data deal; Brussels gives support for 'sharing economy'; Commission looks for short-term glyphosate extension; Tech giants sign up to EU code against online hate; Germany need not recognise nobility of German 'count'
The Commission this week hailed the success of the European Fund for
Strategic Investments (EFSI), extending it beyond 2018. The Investment
Plan has defied the pessimists, says EC president Juncker, on track to
mobilise at least EUR 315 bn in additional investments in the real
economy by mid-2018.
EFSI focuses on removing obstacles to investment, providing visibility and technical assistance to investment projects and making smarter use of new and existing financial resources. It has been a strong response to the fall in investment brought about by the economic crisis.
