We are now in the digital age and digitization has penetrated into various aspects of life including betting games. Gambling may be as old as human civilization itself but today, the need to attend physical gambling venues has long since disappeared.

Gambling in traditional casinos is considered out of reach for many people. Not only that, there are many rules that are difficult to follow such as dress code, minimum bet amount, additional certain fees, and so on. Can someone in rural Norway go straight to Macau if he wants to play Blackjack?

For players, betting via electronic devices such as PCs and smartphones with the support of an Internet connection is a better option. There are many prohibitions and restrictions on betting in many countries but “there is always a way to Rome”, especially with the easy access to various online gambling games.

The games are hosted by online casinos and for us Norwegians, online casinos are nothing new. However, unlike in some countries, there are more restrictions here. One of them is related to how we make deposits and receive payments for the wins that we achieve. Norwegian players, for example, have quite a lot of limitations when it comes to payment methods which they are able to use to make casino payments. “That is why “bankoverf?ing casino” (or “bank wire casino” in English) is such a popular search query among gamblers from Norway”, says Gilfred Helmonsen, a gaming expert that specialized himself in the Norwegian gambling market.

Fewer payment options are available in Norway and a bit more in the other Nordic countries. But still bank wire is the most popular option and is considered the most profitable.

The need to make payments is considered very important by many, especially due to the pandemic that started 2 years ago, which forced millions of people to stay in their comfortable homes. There is a tendency to increase the number of players related to the more time people are “coated” in the house. Now that we have passed the pandemic period, the interest in playing online gambling has not decreased but has actually increased sharply.

After all, cashless casinos are the future of the Nordic casino industry and even the global casino industry. Of course, there will always be physical casinos you can find in Vegas or Macau but broadly speaking, the direction of the pendulum is moving towards online casinos.

Now, why is the use of bank wires the better option for Nordic players? Of course, there are reasons which we will discuss below:

    1. Wire transfer has strict requirements

To note, not only in the world of online casinos, wire transfers have very strict requirements. Therefore, using wire transfer is considered the most secure and reliable payment method. Online payment platforms generally have loose requirements but on the other hand, a high tolerance means they also “support” the risk of fraud.

    2. Wire transfer prevents money laundering

Wire transfer has fairly strict stages. Thus this method is “relatively more difficult” than other payment methods. For many beginners, this method is annoying because it takes up quite a lot of time, but for experts, the wire transfer method can minimize the risk of money laundering and also fraudulent modes that are usually under the guise of online gambling.

    3. As a marker of reputation

The online casinos that offer payment methods by wire transfer can be considered casinos with a high reputation. Amateur casinos that aim to scam you and take as much of your money as possible usually avoid dealing with banks. Instead of dealing with banks and all their bureaucracy, they usually prefer to use simple online payment platforms. Of course, that doesn’t mean casinos that use only online payment platforms are scammers but if you come across a casino that doesn’t accommodate wire transfers, you need to be wary.

So is wire transfer the best method? Maybe not but it is one of the safest. You wouldn’t risk your money just for something practical, would you? We hope this article has provided you with useful insights. Thanks for reading and have a lucky day!
