(BRUSSELS) - The European Parliament on Thursday sent a message of solidarity to Japan following its devastating earthquake, tsunami and nuclear emergency, urging the 27-nation European Union to provide aid.
In a resolution from all its political groups, the 736-seat parliament expressed admiration "for the courage and determination of the Japanese people and authorities in dealing with the situation."
It also urged both the EU and its member states to provide all necessary humanitarian, technical and financial support.
