Safari: A Great Browser for PC from Apple

06 February 2018, 19:23 CET

Apple has been severely criticized after the release of Safari for Windows. Instability and a lot of bugs in his first version produced not the best impression at all. However, since then everything has changed dramatically, and in Safari 5 we see a number of remarkable new products, for example, a new Reader icon for more comfortable reading on one page, faster page loading, and significantly improved support for HTML5.

All previous functions have also been preserved, for example, tabs at the top for easy page manipulation and Cover Flow for quick browsing of bookmarked sites, like in iTunes.

Simplicity and Elegance

When you first get to know Safari, the first thing that catches your eye is its simplicity compared to many other browsers. It does not have annoying toolbars and plugins, which makes Safari look elegant, and pages load very quickly. Another advantage is that the content of your page is allocated a maximum of space, unlike some cumbersome browsers. You can download Safari for Windows 10 and try it out yourself.

Safari's Features

In a previous version of Safari, Apple introduced Top Sites, one of the most impressive components of Safari. It displays in a single window a panoramic view of the most frequently visited sites. To go to the desired website, you just need to click on it. Of course, this looks great, although it is doubtful from the point of view of the benefits for everyday use. However, this function is a good way to track the most frequently visited sites.

Meanwhile, Cover Flow allows you to view bookmarks, displaying the full-page view of sites in the form in which they were during your last visit. This principle is similar to thumbnail albums in iTunes. The main thing is to go to the site as quickly as possible. What you can really like is the History Search. It is only necessary to enter a word, and Safari will display all the pages in the cache where this word occurs. This option is beneficial if you cannot remember where you came across some name of a person or a game, for example.

Another convenient feature of Safari is Tabs on Top, which makes it a little easier to navigate and open tabs at the very top of the browser. You can even drag the tabs to another Safari window. Speed has always been a hallmark. Nowadays, Apple experts have increased it even more with the help of the enhanced Nitro engine, which, according to developers, processes JavaScript 25% faster than the previous version.

The most notable feature in the new version is the Reader, with which you can view all the content on one page, although you cannot change the font. In addition to Google and Yahoo, a new Bing search parameter has appeared.

Navigation in Safari has also become much easier thanks to a more intelligent address bar, which searches for cached pages for keywords, and archiving the pages at the time of their viewing became more accurate.

Conclusion

In addition to these changes, all the standard Safari features are preserved. By clicking the RSS tag in the address bar, you can see all the messages in the feed that you can submit in chronological order and get their brief or detailed view. Download the latest version of Safari on your computer and decide if you like it or not. Of course, some programs and plugins cannot work with the new version of Safari, but these problems will be quickly eliminated by the developers of the corresponding software.
