EU leaders meet for an informal summit in Malta Friday, with two main
items on their agenda: to stem the flow of irregular migration from
Libya to Europe, and mapping a future for Europe after Brexit.

2. End for mobile roaming charges as EU agrees price caps
The EU institutions agreed Tuesday evening on price caps for wholesale
mobile roaming markets - the prices operators charge each other when
customers use other networks when roaming in the EU.
3. EU and Mexico speed up talks for free trade agreement
The EU and Mexico have agreed to hold extra talks before summer as part
of an accelerated schedule for a Free Trade Agreement, in the face of a
rising global trend towards protectionism.
4. Europe's energy transition well under way: report
The EU's annual State of the Energy Union report, published Wednesday,
showed Europe's economy moving away from fossil fuels, but at a pace
criticised as being too slow to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement.
5. Brussels opens probe into geo-blocking in online sales
The Commission has launched three separate investigations to assess
whether certain online sales practices prevent consumers from enjoying
cross-border choice, in breach of EU antitrust rules.
6. Brussels mulls new initiative on antimicrobial resistance
The Commission has launched a public consultation on a new action plan
to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR) which it plans to adopt this
