As EU leaders meet to mull the future of Europe without the UK, the
future of the much-maligned Common Agricultural Policy fell into the
spotlight this week, as the Commission kicked off an important debate
that will determine what farming in Europe should look like in the
future.
It is right that the wider public, so affected by this powerful
EU policy tool, should be involved in what needs to be fundamental
reform. And the aim should be, as WWF puts it, to radically change
Europe's food and farming system to one that protects farmers, nature
and consumers alike.
