Eurozone economic confidence stronger in July
The main economic actors in the eurozone grew more optimistic in July, led by growing confidence in the industrial sector, a survey from the European Commission released Monday showed.
The European Union's executive commission said that its economic sentiment indicator for the 12 countries sharing the single currency rose by 0.6 points over a month to 107.7 points, its highest level since early 2001.
The industrial confidence indicator rose to four in July from three the previous month, while optimism about the construction sector also rose again.
Consumer and services confidence remained stable.
However the commission's
separate eurozone business climate indicator fell slightly to 1.37 in
July from a revised June figure of 1.43.
