The European Central Bank (ECB) is seeking a Deputy Director General for its Directorate General Research (DG/R).

In the absence of the Director General, the Deputy Director General will deputise.

He/she will provide leadership in one of DG/R’s research areas and will assume responsibility for certain defined areas of work.

He/she will help to ensure effective cooperation both between the three Divisions and with other ECB business areas.

As a member of the ECB’s senior management, the Deputy Director General will be expected to contribute to the establishment of the ECB’s strategic direction and represent the ECB in high-level external fora.

He/she should be constantly aware of the impact that DG/R’s work has on the ECB and the outside world, and should practise and promote the ECB’s common values.
