Serbia to submit EU bid on Tuesday: TV
(BELGRADE) - Serbia will submit its application for membership in the European Union on Tuesday, RTS national television said on Sunday, quoting a source in the Serbian presidency.
It had announced in November that it would apply to join the 27-nation bloc -- the last part of the former Yugoslavia to do so -- but debate has been ongoing over the timing of the application.
Serbian media reports suggest some members of the government favoured an early bid -- by the end of this year or early 2010 -- while others would prefer to wait for broader support among EU states.
RTS also quoted Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt as indicating that Belgrade's bid to join the block would be received on Tuesday.
Sweden holds the rotating EU presidency until the end of this year.
Support for Serbia's bid among EU member states is mixed at best, according to a European diplomat, with backing from Greece and Italy but several key members -- among them Britain and the Netherlands -- more reserved.

serbia to submit EU bid..
Serbia cozying up to EU.
It will be a sad day for the humanity when those murdering serb hyenas are allowed to join the EU for that is exactly what they are. Murderers of old men and children. Gang rapists of 12 year old girls and pregnant women. Murderers of tortured and chained men of all ages.
All because of their blind hatred of a different religion.
No different from hitler’s nazi germans.
And how soon the so called civilized Europeans forget those cowardly, murderous acts
and are willing to freely share their towns and cities and restaurants and streets with those hyenas.
Can a wild hyena be domesticated within 10 years?
Moreover can you feel safe letting your child share his or her playground with a hyena?
The first time I became aware of their vicious nature was in the year 1960 when I went by car with my two uncles from Istanbul to London where they were studying engineering.
After that we made that trip twice each summer – back and forth – for a number of years.
Driving through two communist countries, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria was like going through hell, yugoslavia being the centre of hell. From belgrade to zagreb was a long, boring, dangerous and scary drive that could not be avoided but nevertheless a hated short cut between Turkey and Italy or Turkey and Austria.
Yugoslavia was under tito's iron rule and there were spot checks every 100 miles or so, day or night, by tito’s soldiers with their crude machine guns and vicious looking dogs.
They would search the car and let us go. They did not speak English or german and never smiled. I don’t think that they knew what happiness was unless they were dead drunk on cheap vodka.
Strangely enough we felt somewhat more secure with the soldiers than the ordinary yugoslavs that surrounded our car wherever we stopped for rationed petrol or something to eat in a cafe. They looked dangerous, drunk, dirty and mean. If there were no soldiers or police around they begged for the shirts, sweaters, shoes we wore or anything in the car. We often carried older clothing or cheap stuff we bought just for these incidents to save our lives. I shall never forget a meal we had in a cafeteria in Belgrade. Half way through our meal I became aware that all eyes – approximately 30 or 40 pairs – were on us. I asked my uncles why they were staring at us. His reply was ‘ Look at what we are eating – three course meals each with desert and a beer and look at what they are eating – one dish shared by a family of three or four. Being a teenager it made me feel guilty and sad for them at the same time I wanted to get to Birindisi, in Italy really fast.
My uncles shared the driving so that we could go through in the shortest time possible.
Even than, with a lousy narrow two-lane road, we seemed to spend one day and two nights or vice verse in that hell hole.
But there were entertaining times as well and my uncles knew how to take advantage of that. Years later when I made the same trip back and forth with a friend or two in my own car, I knew what to do as well.
Being a communist country, Yugoslavia was very poor and basic. Western goods that we were used to in Turkey or germany or England did not exist in Yugoslavia. Basic things like cosmetics or a pair of nylons were hot items and Yugoslav women or young girls knew the stretches of the road where there were no soldiers or police. They would suddenly jump in front of the car from behind the bushes and ask for nylons. In exchange they would offer themselves . You just had to drive to a nearby lane behind trees and voila!!!
They were not hookers. They were ordinary Yugoslav girls and women desperate for some western goods.
On hindsight it is sad really.
Anyhow, coming back to the heart of the matter here.
The vicious nature of the Yugoslav-serb males.
Early 1960s were the years when germany, after two back to back wars was desperate for
male workers, and had taken thousands of Italians, Spanish, Greeks and Yugoslavs and their families to get their industries back on the road to recovery and needed thousands more. German government had asked the Turkish government for a million workers of various skills. Seeing this as an opportunity to reduce or eliminate the unemployment in the mainly Kurdish south east the request was met but the german government was told that these people were mostly un-skilled or semi-skilled at best and even illiterate.
Their reply was “We have taken millions from western European countries. We need more. Look what we are taking now. Lazy, drunken, dirty thieves from communist Yugoslavia. Your illiterate people are at least honest and hard workers. Send all you can”.
That started the mass flow of Kurdish workers (with Turkish passports) into germany.
Soon after that these people made some money, bought some luxury goods like TVs,
Cars, toys etc, loaded their cars to the hilt and headed back to Turkey to show off their newly acquired wealth to their villages and neighbours.
Nothing wrong with that except they only had 3 or 4 weeks of vacation and they had to come back to their jobs soon. So they drove fast to minimize their travel time.
The murdering Yugoslavs soon clued up to that and started to take advantage of this
mass flow of simple and unsuspecting people usually at night and where there were no soldiers and police presence.
They started to race and force these workers off the road into the ditch on the side,
crashing them at high speed and looting their possessions and cash while the family was slowly dying or already dead.
Kids, grandparents, pregnant women. It did not matter. They were left by the road side for the authorities to clean up the mess and inform the police.
This went on for years. Even trailer lorries were pushed off the road to pilfer their loads.
That is how those murdering Yugoslavs-serbs acquired their western goods and cash from the pockets of the dead or the dying.
Then came the mass slaughters of the 1990s.
There is a lot more dirt in that country if anyone in EU wants to investigate but I suspect that little will come to the surface.
They are very adept at hiding their dirt as well as their murderers.
EU would become a shameful union with those hyenas in the midst.
