Italy reports EUR 2.4 bn trade surplus in November
(MILAN) - Italy reported on Wednesday a trade surplus of 2.4 billion euros ($3.1 billion) in November, a figure almost unchanged from the October level.
The surplus in trade with countries outside the European Union was 1.9 billion euros, while the surplus with EU countries was 500 million euros, the national statistics office ISTAT said.
Exports went up by 0.4 percentage points in November from October -- mainly due to non-EU markets -- while imports were down by 2.2 percent.
On a 12-month comparison, exports were up 3.6 percent and imports dropped by 8.2 percent.
