Italy's Finmeccanica wins EUR 500m Eurofighter contract
(MILAN) - Italian aerospace giant Finmeccanica said on Friday it had won a contract worth more than 500 million euros ($667 million) for maintenance of Eurofighter fleets in Britain, Germany, Spain and Italy.
"Through its subsidiary Alenia Aermacchi, Finmeccanica won a contract worth more than 500 million euros to provide technical assistance and logistical services for the Eurofighter Typhoon programme," it said in a statement.
The deal is part of a five-year contract signed between the Eurofighter consortium and NATO for the maintenance of fighter jet fleets.
Finmeccanica is part of the Eurofighter Typhoon consortium with the German and Spanish subsidiaries of European giant EADS and Britain's BAE Systems.
