(BRUSSELS) - The European Union will not prevent Greece passing a law helping its poorest citizens, a senior EU official said Wednesday, rejecting reports it wanted the measures dropped because they clashed with Athens' bailout commitments.
"We fully support the objective of helping the most vulnerable and there is absolutely no question of a so-called veto of the humanitarian crisis law," EU Economic Affairs Commissioner Pierre Moscovici told reporters after Athens blasted Brussels over its alleged interference.
