The EU's most deadly air crashes
(PARIS) - A German budget airliner crashed in the French Alps on Tuesday with 150 people on board declared dead.
It was one of the worst aviation disasters in the European Union in the past 20 years:

- March 24: FRANCE - An Airbus A320 airliner belonging to Lufthansa's low-cost Germanwings crashes en route from Barcelona to Duesseldorf in the French Alps. France says all 150 people on Flight 4U 9525 died. Germanwings says they included at least 67 Germans, of whom 16 were schoolchildren, as well as Spaniards and Turks.

- August 20: SPAIN - An MD-82 plane owned by Spanish low-cost company Spanair crashes and turns into a fireball while taking off at Madrid for the Canary Islands, killing 154 people.

- August 14: GREECE - A Boeing belonging to Cyprus company Helios crashes near Athens, killing 121 people.
- 2001 -
- October 8: ITALY - A collision between an MD-87 belonging to Scandinavian airline SAS and a private Cessna plane in the fog at Milan-Linate airport leaves 118 dead.
- 2000 -
July 25: FRANCE - An Air France Concorde headed for New York crashes near to Paris' Roissy airport, killing 113 and sounding the death knell for commercial supersonic travel.
France's worst air accident happened on March 3, 1974, when 346 people were killed in a crash shortly after a Turkish Airlines plane took off from Paris.
The deadliest air disaster in history remains the collision on March 27, 1977 between two Boeing 747s in Tenerife in the Spanish Canary Islands, in which 583 people were killed.

They probably skimped on on-board oxygen supply, ran out half way, every one passed out and killed 150 innocent people.
Avoid lufthansa and it's subsidiaries in future.
