Russian pipeline group secures EUR 3.9bn funding deal
(LONDON) - The consortium behind the planned Nord Stream gas pipeline from Russia to Europe said Tuesday it had secured a 3.9-billion-euro (5.9-billion-dollar) funding deal from 26 banks.
Shareholders in the consortium will complete the financing of the first phase of building the pipeline, which will go through the Baltics and cost a total of 7.4 billion euros, they said.
