Bosnia arrests 10 for human trafficking
(SARAJEVO) - Bosnian police on Thursday arrested 10 people suspected of involvement in a human trafficking ring that has smuggled dozens of illegal immigrants from Asia and Africa into the EU, officials said.
"Ten people were arrested during the operation in several towns" in Bosnia, prosecution spokesman Boris Grubesic told AFP.
The 10 are suspected of taking part in "trafficking several dozen illegal immigrants from African and Asian countries" whose destinations were European Union countries, Grubesic said.
Bosnia is on the so-called Balkan route used by organised crime gangs to smuggle drugs, arms and people into western Europe.
