Danish foreign minister hospitalised in Czech Republic
(HLUBOKA NAD VLTAVOU) - Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Moller was taken for hospital tests Saturday after falling ill in the Czech Republic, where he was attending talks with EU counterparts, a spokesman said.
The 66-year-old minister, who has held his post for seven years, indicated in early morning that "he felt a little bit uncomfortable," and he was taken for tests at a hospital in Ceske Budejovice, near the EU meeting venue.
He was still at the hospital in late morning awaiting the test results before leaving, the spokesman said.
"He is doing fine, the doctor said nothing serious," he added.
The European Union foreign ministers began meeting Friday at Hluboka nad Vltavou in the southern Czech Republic, which holds the EU's rotating presidency.
The spokesman was unsure whether his minister would be able to rejoin the talks which were due to end later in the day.
