Bianca Jagger loses 200,000-euro ring in Austria: report

27 August 2008, 14:34 CET

(VIENNA) - Human rights activist Bianca Jagger lost a 200,000-euro (295,000-dollar) ring over the weekend in Salzburg while attending an annual music festival, Austrian media reported Wednesday.

The former wife of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger said she had noticed the ring was missing as she left a hotel in a taxi.

Jagger apparently insisted the precious platinum-and-aquamarine ring, which she had designed herself, was lost in the street, according to the daily Salzburger Nachrichten.

"Ms Jagger expressly said she had lost the ring and that this wasn't a theft," Karl-Heinz Wochermayr from the Salzburg police told the newspaper.
