EU commission condemns Kabul suicide attack
(BRUSSELS) - The European Commission condemned on Monday a suicide bombing at the Indian embassy in Afghanistan that killed more than 40 people and expressed its hope that the culprits would be found.
"I strongly condemn this terrorist attack targeting innocent civilians queuing in front of the Indian Embassy as well as the staff of the Indian embassy," EU External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner said.
Earlier Monday, a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-filled car into the gates of the Indian embassy in the heart of Kabul, according to officials.
"Terrorist attacks will never be a means to achieve anything," Ferrero-Waldner said. "I hope that the people behind this suicide attack will be found and brought to justice by the Afghan authorities."
