Hungary's exports expanded in the first four months of this year by 17 percent on a 12-month basis while imports grew by 12 percent, the office said in a statement.

In 2007, the country substantially narrowed its trade deficit to 307.6 million euros from 1.96 billion euros in 2006 and 2.9 billion euros in 2005.
