EU approves state aid for two Polish airports
(BRUSSELS) - The European Commission approved on Wednesday nearly 300 million euros (464 million dollars) in state aid to build a new airport in eastern Poland and upgrade another in the north.
Most of the money -- 296 million euro -- will go towards building a new airport in the eastern region of Lublin, the commission said.
Another 1.7 million euros would go to towards improving infrastructure at the airport for the northern city of Gdansk in order "to handle steep increases in passenger and cargo flows."
