European Jewish Congress warns over Iran nuclear threat
(LJUBLJANA) - Leaders of the European Jewish Congress will call on the current EU presidency to rapidly apply UN sanctions against Iran over its nuclear programme, the body said in a statement Monday.
Delegates of the congress (EJC), led by its president Moshe Kantor, will state their case at meetings with the Slovenian presidency of the European Union Tuesday and Wednesday, said the statement.
They will meet Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa and Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel. Slovenia holds the rotating six-monthly presidency of the EU until June 30.
