Mauritania and EU sign fishing protocol
(NOUAKCHOTT) - Mauritania and the European Union signed a four-year protocol agreement on fishing on Thursday, the Mauritanian fisheries ministry announced.
Under the accord signed in Brussels, the EU would reduce its catches in Mauritanian waters by 41 percent while Europe's financial contribution would drop by nearly 10 percent to 76 million euros a year, Fisheries Minister Assane Soumare said.
