Information
measures relating to the common agricultural policy
(budget heading 05 08 06)
Overview:
The European Commission co-finances information measures
relating to the common agricultural policy that aims, in
particular, at:
- helping, on the one hand,
to explain and, on the other hand, to implement and develop
that policy,
- promoting the European
model of agriculture and helping people understand it,
- informing farmers and
other parties active in rural areas,
- raising public awareness
of the issues and objectives of that policy.
Applications may be submitted
only by legal persons established for at least 2 years in a
Member State of the EU and in the framework of a call for
proposals published once a year (before the 31st of
October).
Legal basis
Council Regulation (EC) No
814/2000 of 17 April 2000 on information measures relating to
the common agricultural policy

defines the type and content of the measures which can be
financed under budget heading 05 08 06.

Grants 2009
A grant request can be submitted up to 14 November 2008
for information measures to be implemented between 1st June 2009
and 31st May 2010..
Interested organisations are invited to read the Call for
Proposals 2008/C 248/06 [pdf]
which specifies the priority measures and the timetable for
presenting applications for 2009.
All grant applications for 2009 have to be made on the forms
provided for this purpose (for downloading):
When preparing estimates of expenditure, applicants are required
to observe the rules announced in annex IV of the call for
proposals ("Drawing up of the budget"). See also

The
expected date for the end of the evaluation procedure for budget
year 2009 is the 31/5/2009. Applicants are requested not to
telephone or write to the Commission concerning the result of
their application before this date.
The applications selected will
be the subject of an agreement (pdf) between the Commission
and the beneficiaries covering the rights and obligations
resulting from the Commission decision to award a grant.
