Wireless burst detection system creates cost savings

28 September 2017, 12:11 CET

Elfab, a leading manufacturer of bursting discs, has included the WirelessHART™ burst detection system into its innovative and expansive product range.

The WirelessHART™ burst detection system offers numerous benefits, from cost-savings to increased site safety. WirelessHART™ is unlike traditional burst detection solutions, which are known to involve high initial investment combined with ongoing maintenance costs that are hard to avoid.

Through eliminating the stress and cost associated with the additional wiring required for traditional burst detection systems, WirelessHART™ is capable of delivering a saving of approximately 50% of the cost and 90% of the time required to install a conventional wired system. Working closely with process management company, Emerson, it has enabled smooth integration of its wireless burst detection systems into existing site infrastructure.

Independent performance and speciality chemical manufacturer Thomas Swan has already implemented the wireless system and is reaping the benefits.

Speaking about their experience, Maintenance Manager, John Smithson said: "Being able to integrate rupture disc monitoring into our existing wireless network has offered significant benefits to our plant. The setup and installation process was seamless and I have been impressed by all aspects of the product and its ongoing reliability – the design and the wireless technology offered by Elfab is excellent."

Elfab is widely acknowledged as a pressure management leader and innovator. With some of the most technically superior bursting disc solutions on the market, Elfab meets the needs of a range of manufacturers. Since the launch of the wireless burst detection system, Elfab has changed the way in which its customers consider rupture disc monitoring.By making the switch from monitoring to wireless systems, customers gain access to the most advanced, cost-effective pressure relief management.
