Ecommerce Europe Strengthens its Regional Presence as the Bulgarian E-commerce Association Joins in

30 May 2017, 15:21 CET

Ecommerce Europe already had 19 national level online business associations in the group, and the Bulgarian Ecommerce Association just became the 20th one to join in with the largest ecommerce organization in Europe. This is a mutually beneficial union, which should prove to be valuable for online businesses throughout the continent in general and Bulgaria in particular. Let's take a look at the expectations, plans and mutual benefits that both parties stand to gain from the union.

Ecommerce Europe Gains Better Regional Representation

Shopify has grown significantly in Europe and as any Shopify review will show you, there are ample reasons to justify the growth and popularity of the ecommerce platform. There are, of course, other ecommerce solutions which are growing fast as well, together making way for new business sites to come online every day in all nations across the continent. This is exactly why it is necessary for Ecommerce Europe to have more national level representation; it's the only way to grow for them and that growth is imperative in their objective to safeguard and promote the interests of online businesses in Europe and abroad. As the Bulgarian E-commerce Association is a profound name in the country's online business sector, the union is definitely a step in the right direction for the pan-European organization.

The Scopes of the Bulgarian Association Grows Exponentially

Ecommerce Europe represents more than 25,000 online businesses from countries such as France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Switzerland and Denmark (to name a few). Bulgaria stands to gain greatly from the union if only for the tremendous scope it will create for the online sector in terms of cross-country business. Just as the larger association gains regional representation via the union, the smaller association too will gain European representation; something that is necessary for the growth of the Bulgarian ecommerce sector as a whole. This move could potentially turn out to be the biggest and best thing to happen to the country's ecommerce sector yet.

Is the Bulgarian Market Worth Exploring?

Since Bulgaria is now a part of the Ecommerce Europe, this should open up business opportunities in the country for online merchants from other countries in the union. However, this leads to the question regarding whether or not the ecommerce market in Bulgaria is worth exploring. As per Ecommerce Europe, Bulgaria is not just a standard market with only "good enough" opportunities, but it is rather an excellent market with superb present and future potential. This conclusion was reached after consulting stats which are showing the Bulgarian online market to grow at an accelerated rate with each passing year. An astounding 20% of the entire Bulgarian population are online shoppers and that number comes to roughly 2.4 million!

The next step for the Bulgarian Ecommerce Association is expected to come in the form of the organization implementing a national and a European Trustmark scheme. There should also be other changes in certain policies and curriculum, which will likely be declared in the coming months.
