Second International Conference on Food and Environment

Food and agriculture has been and still is at the heart of our civilizations. While in many parts of the world the lack of food is a primary concern, in others, the variety of available food is of concern.

Over the past decades, the increases use of intensive farming to alleviate some of the food shortage has come at the detriment of other aspects such as environmental impact and food quality. One of the major challenges resides in extensive farming which, although offering higher productivity and larger volumes, is deemed to affect and alter the environment in multiple ways.

The conference will address the impact of modern food production processes on the environment and human health. It will also initiate discussions on best ways to provide food complying with strict standards of quality, quantities and sustainability.
