You can find the answer to these questions and all you ever wanted to know about the euro in our travelling exhibition "The euro, our currency" - a modern, interactive exhibition with touch screens, a quiz, computer games for kids, a coin press machine, and audiovisual products (EMU@10 video). You may have the opportunity to see the exhibition in your country, as it travels around Europe and will be in Horta from 25 August until 14 September 2009. |

| EU Beyond Tomorrow: Discussion (Brussels) European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso will hold a public discussion with eminent debaters on the next Commission. |

| Biodiversity: High-Level meeting (Stromstad, Sweden) The objective of the meeting is to prepare for the revision of the Strategic Plan for the Convention on Biological Diversity and, in particular, the development of new biodiversity visions and targets following the evaluation of the 2010 Biodiversity Target. |

| Jean Monnet Conference 2009 (Brussels) The 2009 Jean Monnet Conference will mark 20 years of Commission support to EU studies which contributed substantially to the European integration process and to knowledge about the EU worldwide. |

| Agriculture and Fisheries Council (Brussels) Agriculture Ministers will have an in-depth discussion on the situation of the dairy sector and of the measures proposed by the Commission in its Communication of 22 July. |

| Railway Safety: Conference (Brussels) The conference is expected to endorse an action plan to address the shortcomings highlighted by the recent railway accident in Viareggio, which is now being prepared by the European Railway Agency in cooperation with the National Safety Authorities and the industry. |

| GDP: Communication (Brussels) The Commission will publish a Communication on measuring progress in a changing world by moving beyond Gross Domestic Product (GDP). To meet the challenges of climate change, the financial and economic crises and globalisation, new indices are needed to steer policies and behaviour. |

| Riga Food 2009: Show (Riga, Lativa) The Commission will be present at the Riga Food 2009 from 9 to 12 September with its own stand on agriculture in the EU. |

| eCall: Emergency call system (Brussels) Europe's mobile phone industry will sign the eCall Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), giving its full backing to eCall. Europe's in-car automatic emergency call system has life-saving potential as it automatically dials 112, Europe's single emergency number, when a car has a serious accident and sends its location to the nearest emergency service - even when the passengers do not know or cannot say where they are. |

| Global Health Security Initiative: Meeting The Health Ministers of the G7 countries, Mexico and the European Commissioner for Health will meet in Brussels to discuss ways to effectively respond to the future developments concerning the A/H1N1 pandemic. |

| Maritime Governance: Communication (Brussels) The Commission will publish a Communication highlighting tools and specific actions in order to achieve an integrated approach to governing maritime activities in the Mediterranean sea basin. |

| EU Contest for Young Scientists (Paris) The 21st European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) is taking place for the first time in Paris at the Palais de la découverte which has been educating scientists for generations. About 140 of the most talented students aged between 14 and 20 will compete for prizes totalling EUR 51,500 (First, Second, Third prizes and the International cooperation prize) as well as some very attractive special donated prizes from Eiroforum and EPO. |

| LeaderSHIP 2015: High Level Meeting (Bremerhaven, Germany) The LeaderSHIP 2015 (LS) initiative has constituted the long-term, strategic policy framework for the shipbuilding sector since it was jointly developed by industry and the Commission in 2002-2003. |
