R&D and Innovation Service - Portuguese Presidency
CORDIS, the Community Research and Development Information Service, has
launched an online service to provide comprehensive coverage of the
research and innovation initiatives to be carried out under the
Portuguese Presidency of the EU Council (1 July to 31 December 2007).
Providing the current news and details of imminent developments, the
Portuguese Presidency Service offers a comprehensive window on European
achievements in the research area.
The site is a portal to priorities adopted on a national and
pan-European basis in the field of research, with emphasis on issues of
national importance at the forefront.
The service also highlights research and development with an impact
on the overall social, scientific and economic situation in Portugal.
It highlights important activities in individual institutions,
industries and any other centres of excellence undergoing breakthrough
scientific investigation.
There is comprehensive news coverage of the very latest issues in
research and development throughout Europe with a link to those of
particular relevance to Portugal, encompassing a wide range of topics
of national interest.
Information on symposia, conferences and information events
pertinent to research and development (R&D) primarily in Portugal,
but also in the rest of Europe, can be accessed through the 'Events'
link. Furthermore, a global list of research institutions and
individuals that can provide additional information on research-related
topics is provided.
Easy access to showcases outlining breakthrough research,
innovation and the successful development of cutting edge concepts is
also available.
The CORDIS Portuguese Presidency service was developed by CORDIS in
cooperation with the relevant Portuguese authorities and is available
in English and Portuguese.
