Novo Nordisk drug approved for pregnant diabetes patients



Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk, the world's leading supplier of insulin, said on Monday it had won approval from the European Commission for a diabetes drug for pregnant women.

Use of the drug, NovoRapid, was cleared following tests on 322 pregnant women suffering from type 1 diabetes, the company said.
