With the summer holidays upon us, employment ministers decided to discuss work-life balance at their informal meeting this week - focusing on new forms of work, different family types and men's participation in sharing care responsibilities. Not everyone is so keen, however. SME organisation UEAPME warned that the proposal on the Work-Life Balance Directive broadens leave opportunities for all employees in a way which could lessen women's participation in the labour market and increase SME costs.
