Publisher's Note
================
A European Space Policy was launched on Wednesday,
establishing a common political framework for space
activities in Europe, with a view to integrating the
space efforts of 29 European countries.
The policy, drawn up by the Commission with the European
Space Agency, outlines strategic guidelines for Europe's
future activities in space, tackling issues such as
security and defence, access to space and exploration.
A stronger, better coordinated Europe in space, with
increased synergy between civil and defence space
programmes, should contribute better to the future
needs of its citizens. It should also result in more
efficient use of taxpayers' money.
